Soo

Getting this blog back up and going isn't going as fast as I would have hoped. I honestly haven't took the time to sit down and really work on it. But anyone I guess I can give you an update on us. We are doing really well. We just finished our first half of the school year... YAY us.

The boys just received their report cards. They all made straight A's :) and every one of them improved on their reading. I and R improved almost a whole grade level in just 9 weeks. This is really saying a lot because R was a little behind when he joined us this year.

I can see growth in each and everyone of them. I love watching them grow and become more independent. I and J are really becoming independent but R isn't so much. Of course I and J knew what to expect from last year. R was in public school last year.

I have to say I feel this year is going a lot smoother than last year did. I feel like we have sort of got our routine down. We know what to expect and what we have to get done.

This year I added in "quiet time" as part of our Bible time. We all sit down with our Bibles or a sermon and read and listen for what God is trying to tell us for 30 mins. I enjoy this. And on the days we actually get it done I feel like the day goes smoother.

This year I am struggling with getting our extra subjects done each week. We rarely do health, piano, spanish or science and history. My goal this second half of our year is to try to get more of those done. I would really like to get them doing piano and spanish on a regular basis because I know those will really benefit them.

We are also doing memory verses this year. I enjoy those too. I and J are great at memorizing. R on the other hand isn't. He has trouble concentrating and really listening. This is a skill we are really working on.

All in all I believe our year is going pretty good.  And I promise I will start listing free resources as soon as I can.

Until next time...
God Bless

Here We Go Again

I decided to start my blog again. I had one about 6 months or so ago where I would post about our homeschooling adventures and just daily life and lots of free homeschooling resources but when I disconnected from social media I also disconnect and deleted that blog.
So since I have decided to reconnect to Facebook I also decided to restart my blog. It will take a white to get it back to where it was at one point but I know I can do it. I enjoy writing about our adventures and finding free and cheap resources for other homeschoolers on a budget.
I know most homeschool families are a one income family and a boxed curriculum is expensive but if you can learn how to build your own curriculum from online resources, have a printer, some paper and some time then you can homeschool practically free.
This is what we have been doing for the past two years and I love it. It takes a little extra time but I had most of our year planned out over the summer and I just switch things up every now and then.
I look forward  to getting this blog going again and can’t wait to help others out.
Have a blessed day
